CIRCA 1800'S LINCOLN ROCKER CANE SIZE!!!

CIRCA 1800'S LINCOLN ROCKER PROJECT SM!!!
The Chair Cane Size Chart calls for Medium Hand Cane; & I will be using Medium Hand Cane for the Circa 1800's Lincoln Rocker back!!!
The Chair Cane Size Chart calls for Medium Hand Cane for the bottom; but I will be using the Common Hand Cane for the bottom to give the Circa 1800's Lincoln Rocker bottom the larger footprint of the Common Hand Cane for the much needed structural support!!!

No resizing will be necessary!!!
See Chair Caning Instructions TM on the
http://www.chaircaningdirectory.com/ web site!!!

CIRCA 1800'S LINCOLN ROCKER SEARCH!!!

Since seeing many, many questions asking "HOW DO I DO A LINCOLN ROCKER" I deceided to locate, & purchase a circa 1800's Lincoln Rocker for a Museum Quality "HOW TO" for a DVD project for my web site http://www.chaircaningdirectory.com/!!!
This will not be a very easy task considering the many, many full moons' which have gone by when it would have been much, much easier to locate an authenic circa 1800's Lincoln Rocker!!!
My very short journey would take me to the great small historic river city of Petersburg, Virginia which is a
relatively short drive from my shop, Country Seat Weavers TM, which has been in business since 1975, in Richmond, Virginia to begin my search for my "HOW TO" Seat Weaving TM circa 1800's Lincoln Rocker project!!!
I regularly look forward to visiting a great junk shop in that area monthly for junk shop treasurers!!!
Just recently I purchased an 1800's decorative coal grate which will become a magazine holder!!!

I have also purchased an early signed Blacksmith anvil, which originally came from a Civil War foundry in Ole Towne Petersburg, which I use from time to time to do structural wicker repair work!!!
Please ask me for what, & how!!! Fantastic, that's all I have to say, one word!!! Absolutely fantastic!!!
This small very historic river city has a great mix of junk shops, an antique mall, antique shops with a great mix of antiques, collectibles, etc!!!
On that particular day I would get extremely lucky, & find a very dusty, cane less circa 1800's Lincoln Rocker in an antique shop , named AMERICA HURRAH! ANTIQUES, which carries an above average inventory of antiques from the 1850's up which will become our project together!!!
This particular antique shop is located in historic Ole Towne Petersburg in an 1850's building built before Civil War with great architecture!!!
All of the necessary repairs will be done to our circa 1800's Lincoln Rocker then we will completely throw out the ole window the Traditional 7 Step Chair Caning Method, & do an Advanced Chair Caning Method TM!!!
This Advanced Chair Caning Method TM for oval/curved hand caned chairs is much easier to do which forever will enable you in the future to do any kind of oval/curved hand caned chair!!!
